The US data research institute NPD recently announced the top 20 rankings of the game sales rankings in the United States in December and the top 20 rankings of the 2020 game sales rankings (the list is not included in the digital version sales). In December, the total US game market reached 77 Billion US dollars, an increase of 25% compared to 2019. For the year, the entire game market reached 56.9 billion US dollars, an increase of 27% compared to 2019. Call of Duty 17: Black Ops Cold War is still the highest-selling game in the December sales list compared to last month. Also, after various disturbances, Cyberpunk 2077 is yet ranked despite the decline in popularity. In December's second place on the list, Assassin's Creed: Hall of Valor was third. Besides, NBA 2K21 continued to decline despite low ratings and still ranked eighth, while FIFA21 fell out of the top 10.
In the 2020 annual list, Call of Duty 17: Black Ops Cold War performed strongly. It won the monthly top spot and also won first place in the yearly plan. The top two in the annual list are both the Call of Duty series games. GTA5 did not appear in the annual sales list for the first time, and this is the first time since 2013 that the game failed to make a list. NBA 2K21 and FIFA21, due to players' poor experience of the game itself, disappointment, and other reasons, the score continued to decline, ranking 13th and 15th in the annual list.
